Sony’s Unexpected Move: PS5 Players Massively Refunding Crimson Desert

Sony is notoriously hesitant when it comes to processing refunds in the PlayStation Store. However, it seems the quality of Crimson Desert has compelled the company to accommodate users’ requests.

Despite recent reports suggesting the game might look and perform decently on PS5, many players have expressed significant dissatisfaction with the final product. The primary point of contention revolves around its performance, particularly on the base console model.

A Reddit thread has gained considerable traction, with gamers sharing their experiences. Numerous users confirm that Sony has begun approving refunds for Crimson Desert—a surprising development, given the store’s typical reluctance to take such steps. According to multiple accounts, dozens of successful refunds were processed over the weekend. The most common reason cited is poor game performance, with even PS5 Pro owners reporting similar issues and receiving their money back after contacting support.

Opinions, however, remain divided. Within the same discussion threads, some players claim that Crimson Desert runs and looks good for them, suggesting the controversy is somewhat exaggerated. Nevertheless, Sony appears to have decided to make an exception to its usual policy.

Users report that the most effective method currently is to contact PlayStation support directly. Those who haven’t yet downloaded the game can try the standard refund process via their transaction history in the store.

No way that Sony gave you a refund. I smell a lie.

Refunded sadly, it’s pretty bad on a base PS5 https://t.co/IUxETlnm3a
