Garry Newman: Facepunch Studios Not for Sale Despite Acquisition Attempts

Garry Newman, the visionary founder behind Facepunch Studios, has confirmed that his company has been approached by various entities expressing interest in an acquisition. However, Newman firmly stated his lack of intention to sell the successful studio, creators of popular titles like Garry’s Mod and Rust.

According to Newman, the sole driving factor for him to consider selling Facepunch would be financial gain. Yet, he candidly revealed, “I feel like I’ve got enough money,” indicating his personal financial security negates the primary motivation for such a significant business decision. This stance highlights a commitment to independent development and creative control over maximizing profit through a sale.

Fans of Garry’s Mod will recognize the memorable animation often referred to as the “G-Man’s Wobbly Walk” – a distinctive characteristic from the popular sandbox game.
