Cargo Hunters: Solo Extraction Shooter Arrives on Steam Early Access Amidst a Dying Earth

A new single-player extraction shooter, Cargo Hunters, has recently entered Early Access on PC via Steam. This title plunges players into a grim future where Earth is succumbing to irreversible decay.

The game’s narrative unfolds on a planet ravaged by catastrophic global warming. Melting Antarctic glaciers have unleashed potent superviruses, which have “annihilated everything that moved, breathed, or grew on the planet.” Humanity has since evacuated Earth, leaving behind a desolate husk. However, a demand for valuable items from the forsaken world persists, leading to the emergence of mercenary contractors.

Players take on the role of a humanoid robot, tasked with venturing back to the dying Earth to retrieve these much-sought-after resources for their clients. Cargo Hunters offers flexible gameplay, allowing players to choose between engaging in open combat or employing stealthy tactics to achieve their objectives. The experience is further enriched by elements of looting, crafting, and trading.

Early feedback for Cargo Hunters has been “mostly positive” from the Steam community. While currently featuring a single-player mode, the developers have plans to introduce a cooperative multiplayer option in future updates.
