PlayStation users in Russia are reportedly facing issues accessing games from publisher 2K on their local accounts. Some titles, such as Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, are failing to load beyond the initial screen, indicating a block.
It has also been reported that the basketball simulator 2K25 displays a “Connection error” upon launch for Russian users. However, these same games function without problems when accessed from accounts registered in other regions, such as Turkey.
2K later confirmed that its games are no longer available to users in Russia, explaining the unexpected blocks.
Publisher 2K is known for more than just sports simulators and the Civilization series. It also publishes popular franchises like Mafia, WWE, and Borderlands, implying a broader impact of these restrictions.
