Wildlight Entertainment, Developers of Highguard, Reportedly Cease Operations

Wildlight Entertainment, the studio known for the unsuccessful shooter Highguard, appears to have quietly ceased operations. While no official statements have been released by the company’s management, several indirect indicators strongly suggest its closure.

In recent days, the studio’s key online presence has vanished. Its LinkedIn page has been deleted, and the official website is no longer functional, displaying a “404 Page Not Found” error. These developments follow a round of mass layoffs at the studio approximately a month ago, which occurred in the wake of the debut game’s poor launch.

Further evidence of a potential shutdown comes from a statement by Chad Grenier, co-founder and head of the studio. He reportedly conveyed that despite the unfavorable outcome, he gained valuable experience and was proud of the team’s efforts. Adding to this, his LinkedIn profile has already been updated to reflect his departure from Wildlight this month.
