The grim predictions regarding the future of Ballistic Moon have unfortunately come to pass. The studio, known for developing the 2024 remake of Until Dawn, has officially ceased operations.

Official documents confirm the studio’s liquidation: the initial application was filed on November 11, 2025, with the dissolution formally completed on February 3, 2026. This information was verified by the UK’s Final Gazette Notice, preceding any announcements from Sony Interactive Entertainment or Ballistic Moon itself.

It’s important to recall that the Until Dawn remake was developed by a team comprised of former Supermassive Games veterans, including Duncan Kershaw, Neil McEwan, and Chris Lamb, all of whom had previously contributed to the original studio at various points in their careers.

Despite the experienced team behind the project and the game’s release, the updated title struggled to garner significant interest. Following its premiere, the studio experienced a wave of layoffs, and by March 2025, it was widely believed to be defunct—a status that has now been formally declared.
