Netmarble’s new free-to-play combat RPG, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, based on the popular anime franchise, has rapidly emerged as a significant title in the March gaming landscape, particularly on Steam.
According to SteamDB, the game achieved a peak concurrent player count exceeding 65,000 on PC. It is also available for PlayStation 5 users.
Despite its strong debut, player reception has been mixed: on the PlayStation Store, it holds an average rating of 4.29 out of 5, whereas only 52% of Steam users recommend the game.
Nevertheless, this hasn’t hindered the game’s impressive financial performance. At the time of this report, it secured the eighth position on Steam’s sales chart, outranking notable competitors such as Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Stories 3, and Marathon.
The game’s monetization strategy employs a “gacha” system, a model familiar from other popular titles like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves.
