“The Czech Witcher” Arrives on Steam: Game Praised, But Optimization Criticized

Kromlech, an action-RPG with roguelite elements, has recently launched on Steam Early Access. This new project is already being referred to by some players as “The Czech Witcher,” generating buzz for its dark fantasy setting.

The game immerses players in a grim world of swords and magic, where they embody Kronach, a solitary adventurer experiencing the world’s final days. Players are encouraged to “use the remaining time wisely — and perhaps you will find out what is happening, and maybe even find a way to stop it.”

However, initial user reviews on Steam are mixed, with a current rating of 50%. A significant portion of feedback highlights technical issues, with players frequently noting poor optimization and “frame rate woes” as major drawbacks.

The developers have acknowledged these performance concerns, stating: “We regret that you have encountered technical problems. We have identified a bug, especially on graphics cards with 8 GB of VRAM, where unexpected frame drops and performance degradation occur. We are working on a fix.” Patches are currently in development to address these critical technical shortcomings and improve the overall player experience.
