Rare Precedent: Sony Proactively Refunds Highguard In-Game Purchases

Players who had invested money in the online shooter Highguard are now seeing their funds returned.

The servers for the free-to-play title Highguard were recently shut down. While the game didn’t achieve blockbuster status, some players had still made in-game purchases.

PlayStation console owners have reported that Sony has begun automatically refunding money spent on microtransactions within Highguard, an unusual and commendable move:

Gamers have widely praised Sony for this sensible and swift action, noting the company’s efficient response in this situation.

Meanwhile, Steam users also joined the discussion, clarifying that while they too could get refunds for their Highguard donations, they had to manually submit a request for the process.
