David Tremblay, a globally renowned trophy hunter and former PlayStation Network record holder, has received a permanent ban from PSN. This news has sent shockwaves through the gaming community, given his numerous achievements, platinum trophies, and world records.
According to Tremblay, the ban stems from his account being hacked last October. The perpetrator managed to bypass two-factor authentication and gain access to his profile by manipulating PlayStation Network’s support system.
After Tremblay publicly reported the security issues and attempted extortion, his account was subsequently blocked for alleged rule violations. The trophy hunter suspects the hacker intentionally provoked the ban through “message bombing”—a practice that violates the platform’s terms.
David Tremblay built his reputation over more than 16 years, securing five Guinness World Records and dedicating tens of thousands of hours to trophy hunting. He emphasizes that he repeatedly warned customer support to disregard any activity on his compromised account while it was under the hacker’s control. Now, his profile appears virtually empty, as if his entire trophy history has vanished without a trace.
The gaming community has expressed shock and outrage, once again raising concerns about the reliability of PSN’s security system and the quality of Sony’s customer support.
