The free-to-play MMORPG Tower of Fantasy, launched three years ago, is set to be delisted from the PlayStation 4 console. Developer Hotta Studio and publisher Perfect World have officially announced the discontinuation of support for the game’s PS4 version.
However, players will still be able to continue their adventures on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. PS4 users will need to prepare for a phased shutdown of the service.
The developers openly stated that the decision was primarily driven by the technical limitations inherent to last-generation consoles.
Discontinuation schedule for PS4:
- April 7, 2026: The game will be removed from the PlayStation Store for PS4.
- September 22, 2026: All in-game purchases will be disabled.
- October 20, 2026: The game’s servers for PS4 will be completely shut down.

It’s important to note that this decision is not due to a decline in player interest; Tower of Fantasy maintains a stable audience and a respectable rating of 3.72/5 on the PS Store. The primary issues cited are related to performance capabilities and application size limitations on the PS4 platform.
The developers are offering a practical solution: all game progress and accumulated content can be freely transferred to any other available platform (PS5, PC, or mobile), ensuring players do not lose their achievements.
