Arc Raiders’ anti-cheat system mistakenly flagged assistive devices as cheats.

A significant controversy has recently unfolded within the Arc Raiders community after a disabled player received a permanent ban because his essential assistive controller was incorrectly identified as a cheat by the game’s system.

The player, known as doyoulikePRIMERIB, is quadriplegic and relies on a specialized “sip and puff” mouth controller called QuadStick to interact with his computer, enabling him to play games and manage daily tasks. Despite a long history of gaming without ever resorting to cheats, his unique control method was flagged in Arc Raiders.

I played in countless multiplayer and single player games and never got banned or cheated. I’m a quadriplegic gamer so I use a sip and puff mouth controller called QuadStick which allows me to control my computer not only in games but also in everyday life.

After an initial one-month ban and unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue with support, doyoulikePRIMERIB returned to Arc Raiders only to face a lifetime ban on his very first day back.

Following widespread community outcry, Embark Studios acknowledged the problem and confirmed they are actively investigating the situation. The studio issued a statement regarding the bans:

We have become aware that some players using assistive devices are receiving bans in the game. We are actively working on a solution to this problem as soon as possible. Our team of support is reviewing all appeals — please continue to reach out to us if this has happened to you. Thank you for reporting this.

Embark Studios has urged affected players to continue submitting appeals, assuring them that their support team is reviewing each case to rectify this oversight.
