Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Pocketpair, the studio responsible for the global sensation Palworld, has reportedly become so deeply immersed in the recently released card roguelike, Slay the Spire 2, that it has caught the attention of his own development team.

Slay the Spire 2, the highly anticipated sequel, has quickly garnered significant interest from numerous gamers and professionals across the industry since its recent launch.

A representative from the Pocketpair team shared a humorous fragment of their internal communications on social media. It revealed that Mizobe’s intense dedication to Slay the Spire 2 has already led to a lighthearted “reprimand” from his staff due to the excessive amount of time he spends playing.

The team playfully warned him that they might confiscate his Steam Deck if he didn’t reduce his playtime. However, these good-natured threats appear to have had little effect. A subsequent post reportedly showed him still playing, with a team member humorously remarking that Slay the Spire 2 had seemingly “taken over his life.”
