Bungie is preparing the first major update for its shooter, Marathon, set to release this week. The patch aims to resolve several issues identified by players following the game’s initial launch weekend.
A key enhancement targets the objective display system. Currently, mission markers only appear when players are within a 10-meter radius of the target object, often leading to prolonged searches for terminals and other objectives. The upcoming update will double this detection radius to 20 meters, simplifying navigation while preserving the intended element of location exploration.
Additionally, the patch will introduce balance adjustments to the “Perimeter” map, increasing the availability of medical cabinets and ammo crates. Players will also receive more starting ammunition in kits sponsored by corporations MIDA, CyberAcme, and Arachne.
Developers have also commented on the criticism regarding the microtransaction economy, stating plans for future modifications. These specific changes will not be included in the immediate patch. However, one confirmed upcoming adjustment is an increase in the premium currency, LUX, within the $10 bundle. After the change, players will receive 1120 LUX instead of 1100. Those who previously purchased this pack will be retroactively credited with the additional 20 LUX.
