Hideo Kojima has shared fresh details regarding upcoming content for the PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Interestingly, a selection of these new additions will also be made available to players on PlayStation 5.
The PC rendition of the game is set to deliver a range of significant technical enhancements. These include an unlocked frame rate, comprehensive support for ultrawide monitors, full compatibility with the DualSense controller, and the integration of advanced upscaling and frame generation technologies.
Among the key new features is a challenging difficulty mode dubbed “To the Wilder,” designed to considerably increase the game’s complexity. Players can also look forward to new in-game items, the ability to replay boss encounters, and a dedicated 21:9 ultrawide screen mode specifically for the PS5 version. Furthermore, protagonist Sam is expected to acquire a unique chiral cat companion.
In addition, the game will introduce previously unseen live-action cutscenes that were originally cut from the final release, along with supplementary episodes, which include new nightmares for Sam. The developers have also implemented several gameplay adjustments, informed by an analysis of player data.
The PC release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is slated for March 19.
