Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has addressed player concerns regarding the expansive scale of Grand Theft Auto VI. He emphasized that despite its immense size, the game is designed to be accessible and engaging for a wide audience.
In an interview with The Game Business, Zelnick stated that the company doesn’t view the game’s magnitude as an obstacle for adult players with families and responsibilities who might not have ample time for lengthy projects. He highlighted that Take-Two’s diverse portfolio caters to various player demographics, ranging from series like NBA 2K and WWE 2K to more mature titles, which include Grand Theft Auto.
Zelnick expressed confidence that the upcoming installment will attract both younger players and long-standing fans of the series. He noted that prior experience with previous games, such as Grand Theft Auto V or Grand Theft Auto IV, will not be a prerequisite for enjoying GTA 6. The company’s goal, he explained, is to engage “every suitable player.”
He also specifically appealed to older gamers, reminding them that a passion for video games doesn’t diminish with age. If someone developed a love for gaming at 17, they can certainly continue to find enjoyment in it at 40.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is still slated for release on November 19, available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
