The game recently received the free “Age of Sail” expansion, introducing new ships and large-scale naval battles across 15 maps. Online skirmishes now support over 100 players per server, making them some of the most expansive in the genre.

This free DLC quickly garnered significant attention. Consequently, Holdfast: Nations At War broke its own concurrent player record, surpassing 5,000 players simultaneously across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

On Steam, where the game holds an average rating of 90%, it reached a peak of 3,493 concurrent players last Sunday. This marks its best performance since the game’s release in 2020.

An additional contributing factor is the ongoing 50% discount on Holdfast: Nations At War available on Steam.
