Warhammer Artists Display Painted Legio Custodes Miniatures

A collection of painted Legio Custodes miniatures from Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

The Warhammer community has offered a preview of beautifully painted miniatures from the upcoming “Legio Custodes” set for the tabletop game Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. This collection includes the Shield-Captain, Custodian Guards, Sentinel Guards, a Contemptor Dreadnought, and the Caladius Annihilator grav-tank.

Games Workshop released these captivating images, showcasing the work of various artists, ahead of the “Legio Custodes” battle group pre-order, which is scheduled to open on March 21, 2026.

The “Legio Custodes” box set itself contains one Shield-Captain, six Custodian Guards, six Sentinel Guards, a Contemptor Dreadnought (which can be assembled as either an Achillus or Galatus variant), and a Caladius Annihilator grav-tank.

Artists Angelo Di Cello, Antonio Rivera, Colin Ward, Joseph Knoblach, Ruben Rodriguez, Scott White, and Vincent Notley presented their interpretations of the Custodian Guards, dedicated protectors of the Emperor of Mankind.

Andrew Haywood, Angelo Di Cello, Howard Tee, Antonio Rivera, Colin Ward, Lauren Wingrove, and Oliver Keily showcased their Sentinel Guards, often equipped with the formidable Praesidium Shield.

Colin Ward, Matt Wingrove, Spencer Stone, and Robert Wolfs meticulously enhanced the Caladius Annihilator grav-tank, featuring its advanced Arachnus blaze cannon, powered by capacitor arrays.

Ben Mudge, Jack Hunter, Jessica Smart, Lloyd Davies, Oliver Keily, and Spencer Stone introduced their versions of the Contemptor Dreadnought, a revered cybernetic sarcophagus for an Adeptus Astartes hero.
