VTuber Ironmouse Alleges Agency Withheld Over $500,000 in Charity Funds

Prominent VTuber Ironmouse, widely regarded as one of Twitch`s most successful, has announced her departure from the VShojo agency, with which she had collaborated since November 2020. In a YouTube video, she stated that the agency owes her a substantial amount of money and failed to transfer over $515,000 she raised for the Immunodeficiency Foundation charity.

Ironmouse suffers from a rare primary immune deficiency (CVID), which causes her immune system to be severely compromised. This condition often keeps her bedridden, frequently ill, and isolated. When Ironmouse began streaming, she simply wanted to connect with people and make friends, but was hesitant to reveal her real face online. A friend then suggested using an anime avatar, leading her to become a VTuber.

In 2020, when VShojo approached her, Ironmouse spent considerable time deliberating whether to become a corporate VTuber. Ultimately, she agreed, valuing the anonymity and the convenience of VShojo managing her payments. Since November 2020, she and her online friend CDawg (Connor) have collectively raised over $4 million for the Immunodeficiency Foundation through Twitch subathons (where viewers subscribe to donate), cycleathons (where Connor cycles long distances for donations), and other charitable events.

Ironmouse conducted two subathons, committing to donate half of her revenue to the Immunodeficiency Foundation. The first subathon, she states, went smoothly, with VShojo successfully transferring over $329,000. However, during her second subathon in September 2024, when she broke Twitch`s all-time subscriber record (306,621), raising over $515,000 for the foundation, VShojo allegedly failed to transfer these funds, even a year later.

Ironmouse emphasized that the Immunodeficiency Foundation provided immense help during her diagnosis, a time when she felt scared and uncertain. “This whole situation has broken me. I just wanted to do something good and give back to a community that helped me, but unfortunately, that`s not the case,” she shared. The VTuber added that she wishes she could elaborate further but has been advised to await legal proceedings.

In solidarity with Ironmouse, other VTubers affiliated with VShojo have begun removing the agency`s name from their social media profiles and announcing upcoming streams to explain their next steps. This raises concerns about a potential mass exodus of talent from VShojo due to the ongoing scandal.

VTuber Kson recently also announced her departure from VShojo, stating that the agency had not paid her since September 2024. “The company lied to me a lot about the situation,” she explained. “My payments stopped last September. I asked repeatedly for a long time what was happening. They just kept saying, `It will be paid,` but it never was, and I don`t think it ever will be.” Kson added that her delay in revealing this information and leaving the agency was due to her fear that the money would never be paid, describing the situation as “frightening.”

VTuber Kuro also reported submitting a contract termination request 11 days prior, though it remains unclear if he was aware of Ironmouse`s situation at that time.

The VShojo agency had already been under scrutiny, with three talents having left since May 2025, alongside the resignations of its former CMO and director of talent. Former VShojo VTubers have also spoken out regarding Ironmouse`s situation. For instance, Zentreya, who left the agency earlier this month, posted that her “heart hurts for the VShojo community” and encouraged mutual support. Current VShojo members Kuro Kurenai, Apricot, Henya, Hime Hajime, AmaLee, and Michi Mochievee publicly expressed their support for Ironmouse.

Ironmouse has published a Tiltify link to directly raise funds for the Immunodeficiency Foundation. As of this writing, over $334,000 has been collected. She will continue her activities as an independent VTuber.
