Valve has confirmed that a new line of Steam devices, which includes the Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Steam Frame VR headset, is slated for release in 2026.
Previously, some confusion arose on March 7, 2026, following a post in the “Steam 2025 Year in Review” blog. The initial version of the message stated:
We hope for a 2026 release, but memory and storage shortages create difficulties.
However, Valve representative Casey Aitchison Boyle quickly clarified the situation for The Verge, stating:
Nothing has changed on our end.
Shortly after, the original blog post was corrected to reflect the updated information:
There were difficulties with memory and storage, but all three products will be released this year.
Valve reiterated its commitment to launching these products in the first half of the year, though specific pricing and final release dates are still pending announcement.
