Unlock the Graviton Spike Exotic Hand Cannon in Destiny 2: Edge of Fate

The release of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate ushers in a plethora of new content, including an array of new Exotics. Among them is the coveted Graviton Spike, a formidable 150 RPM hand cannon distinguished by its dual firing modes. Its Arc mode delivers an impressively fast rate of fire, while its Stasis mode, though slower, packs a more potent punch.

When the weapon is overcharged, each mode consumes a portion of that energy to unleash unique additional effects upon securing final blows or precision hits. In Arc mode, successful hits call down a devastating lightning strike. Conversely, rounds fired from the Stasis mode explode on impact, forming crystals that can be shattered for bonus damage. Players can seamlessly transition between these two powerful modes using the weapon`s intrinsic Temporal Manipulation IV perk.

How to Acquire the Graviton Spike

Acquiring this Exotic hand cannon involves a dedicated quest line. Follow these detailed steps to add the Graviton Spike to your arsenal:

1. Complete The Edge of Fate Campaign & Level Rosetta

First, you must complete the entire “The Edge of Fate” campaign, regardless of whether you played it on Legendary or Normal difficulty. Crucially, ensure your Rosetta ability is leveled up to 3. Once these prerequisites are met, an Exotic quest titled “Graviton Through the Ages” will become accessible.

2. Initiate the Quest

To begin your journey, travel to the Altar of Relativity on Kepler to pick up the quest. After acquiring it, proceed to the Caldera social hub on Kepler and speak with both Lodi and The Emeritus. They will instruct you to utilize your Rosetta device and head towards the Outer Wastes.

3. Outer Wastes – First Weapon Piece

Upon reaching the Outer Wastes, search for the Aionian Command Module located on the left. This module will be locked until you defeat a nearby Rosetta Sentry. Once the Sentry is eliminated, activate the command module.

Follow the directional markers leading to a designated search area. Here, you`ll need to activate Matterspark and locate the charging portals scattered throughout the vicinity. The first one is conveniently situated near a small cliff at the starting point. Activating this portal will trigger a launch portal next to it, propelling you towards the next one. Continue along the route, using Matterspark to charge all three portals. Once all three are activated, a small room will become accessible. Inside, interact with a pile of materials to collect the first Graviton Spike weapon piece. Return to The Emeritus for your subsequent instructions.

4. The Gorge – Second Weapon Piece

Your next destination is The Gorge. You can reach this location quickly by fast traveling to the Assimilated Easement waypoint. As before, defeat the Rosetta Sentry and activate the command module. The next puzzle requires the combined use of Mattermorph and Matterspark abilities. You`ll find a Mattermorph node along the waypoint path. To solve this puzzle, follow these steps:

  • Use Matterspark to reach and enter the portal situated to the left of the area.
  • Upon exiting the portal, turn left and proceed into the cave.
  • Enter the narrow pathway and turn left at the first opportunity.
  • Employ Mattermorph to unlock the sealed passageway.

With the barrier now lifted, you can search another pile of materials to find the second Graviton Spike weapon piece.

5. Exile`s Accord – Third Weapon Piece

Next, return to Lodi, who will direct you to Exile`s Accord to triangulate the third weapon piece`s location. As with previous steps, you`ll need to defeat a Rosetta Sentry before activating the main panel. When you arrive in Exile`s Accord, resist the urge to go through the train directly; instead, look to your right to spot a Matterspark portal.

After activating the panel, proceed through the train tunnel. At the end of this hallway, search the pile of materials to uncover the third Graviton Spike weapon piece.

6. Collect Vex Data Fragments & Final Piece

Return to The Emeritus once more; your next task is to collect 100 Vex Data Fragments. You can acquire data by defeating any Vex enemies, but those with a yellow health bar will yield larger quantities. Once you`ve gathered the required fragments, fast travel to the Aionian Campus where another command module awaits activation.

Advance into the new zone, which presents another puzzle. In the left corner, you`ll find a Mattermorph node inside a tube. Activate this node and then return to the center of the area. Here, you`ll see a container suspended from a crane. Use your Mattermorph ability on this container to open it, and then pick up the Relocator from within.

Drop down and accurately shoot the Relocator through a gap in a slightly open door. Next, step into the teleporter located on your right to pass through the gap. Once on the other side, interact with the pile of materials directly in front of you to collect the final Graviton Spike weapon piece.

7. Complete The Sieve Activity

Finally, return to Lodi, who will assign you the last step: completing “The Sieve” activity. This is a limited-time event that appears periodically on Kepler. If it`s not currently visible, it will become available soon. While The Sieve may display a countdown to its next start time, be aware that given the strange temporal occurrences on Kepler, this timer is not always perfectly accurate. When the activity does appear, you can launch it from the Caldera hub. Successfully completing “The Sieve” will reward you with the powerful Graviton Spike Exotic hand cannon, completing your quest!
