Unlock Exclusive Fortnite & Rocket League Rewards!

Epic Games is celebrating Rocket League`s 10th anniversary with a special Summer Road Trip event, offering exciting cross-game rewards for both Rocket League and Fortnite players. The grand prize is a sleek Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 car body usable in both titles. As an added incentive, players can also unlock an exclusive Fortnite skin and glider by participating in specific challenges within Rocket League. This limited-time event concludes on August 4th, so make sure to grab these free items before the deadline.

The Summer Road Trip event features unique quests in both Fortnite and Rocket League. Completing these quests contributes towards unlocking the coveted Corvette ZR1. Additionally, each game offers its own set of exclusive rewards. For Fortnite players, these include a themed pickaxe, a vehicle wrap, and `The Zephyr Song` jam track by The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Rocket League participants can earn the exclusive `Hairpin` Fortnite skin, a stylish recolor of the `Pitstop` outfit, and a unique `Rocket League Ball` glider. These particular items are only obtainable by completing specific challenges within Rocket League; they cannot be acquired directly through Fortnite gameplay.

Obtaining the League Balloon Fortnite Glider

Let`s begin with the simpler task. To acquire the `League Balloon` glider, your objective in Rocket League is to `Play a private match with custom mutators during Summer Road Trip.` Navigate to the main menu, select `Play,` then `Private Match` (located in the bottom right), and finally `Create Private Match.` You have full freedom to customize settings, including playing against bots, so no additional players are required. Crucially, ensure you enable at least one `Mutator` – the specific type doesn`t matter. If you encounter a region-related error when starting the match, simply adjust your region settings from `Recommended` to your specific geographical location.

Be sure to set a mutator before you start your private match.

For the quickest completion, configure the match for `sudden death` where the first goal wins, and set your opponents to beginner-level bots that won`t use boost. After the match concludes, regardless of the outcome, the glider will be unlocked.

Unlocking the Free Hairpin Fortnite Skin Efficiently

To unlock the `Hairpin` skin, you must perform 15 `Saves` or `Epic Saves` in online matches; private matches do not count towards this objective. While this quest can naturally be completed through regular gameplay, those unfamiliar with Rocket League or seeking efficiency have two primary strategies:

  • Focus on Defense in 1v1: Engage in 1v1 matches and prioritize defense. Allow your opponent numerous shot opportunities, focusing solely on blocking them. This approach might not lead to a win, but it effectively racks up saves.
  • Play Heatseeker Mode: Alternatively, consider playing `Heatseeker,` a limited-time mode frequently available in the casual playlist. In `Heatseeker,` the ball automatically curves towards the goal after every hit, significantly increasing your opportunities for saves compared to standard matches.

Beyond the skin and glider, Rocket League offers two additional Summer Road Trip quests that grant XP. These are crucial if your goal is to acquire the Corvette ZR1. These quests require you to achieve 15 assists or clears, and score 15 goals – both in public online games, similar to the skin challenge. Completing all four Rocket League missions will reward you with the ZR1`s wheels.

Important Note: The final step to earning the Corvette ZR1 car itself is time-gated. Starting Monday, July 28th, you can unlock the Corvette by playing five online games in a party with the ZR1 wheels already equipped.
