В отличие от предыдущих выпусков Discovery Tour, которые предлагали сокращенные версии игр Assassin`s Creed для консолей и ПК по Древнему Египту, Древней Греции и эпохе викингов, этот релиз стал первым, специально адаптированным для мобильных платформ. Ubisoft has released a new educational application in its Discovery Tour series, titled “Medieval Baghdad,” now available for free on iOS and Android mobile devices. This project offers a deep dive into the history and culture of 9th-century Baghdad, meticulously recreated in the game Assassin`s Creed Mirage.

The app features two unique modes for exploring the city: “Access Codex” and “Explore Baghdad.” The “Access Codex” mode functions as an extensive encyclopedia, providing detailed information on the art, culture, and history of the Abbasid Caliphate, all based on historical entries from Assassin`s Creed Mirage. A distinctive feature of this mode is the ability to interact with real historical artifacts using augmented reality, allowing users to examine them up close.

For those who prefer a more interactive learning approach, the “Explore Baghdad” mode is available. This is a narrative-driven adventure through the city, designed to take approximately two hours to complete, featuring 360-degree exploration of the environment and various mini-games. The primary goal of this mode is to collect new entries for the historical codex, making the learning experience engaging and dynamic.

The “Medieval Baghdad” mobile app was developed in collaboration with the UK-based company Sugar Creative. Unlike previous Discovery Tour releases, which offered stripped-down console and PC versions of Assassin`s Creed games set in Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and the Viking Age, this marks the first iteration specifically adapted for mobile platforms. This format perfectly suits the edutainment style of Discovery Tour, allowing users to explore rich history without the combat and main storylines of the Assassin`s Creed franchise.
