Twisted Metal Season 2: Stephanie Beatriz Teases Epic Action and a Wild Heist Episode

The highly anticipated second season of *Twisted Metal* is slated to debut this week on Peacock. Following a first season packed with high-octane action sequences, actress Stephanie Beatriz, who embodies the character of Quiet, assures viewers that the upcoming season will escalate the intensity even further. She revealed that fans can anticipate “really insane” action that truly aligns with the *Twisted Metal* franchise`s reputation. Beatriz also hinted at a particularly memorable heist episode in Season 2, humorously mentioning that she spent a day filming “mostly naked.”

During a roundtable interview conducted on the *Twisted Metal* set in Toronto, Beatriz expanded on the increased action content. She noted that Season 1 featured roughly three major action-heavy episodes. For the new season, however, she indicated a significant increase: “I would say there are maybe five or six action episodes [in Season 2].” Beatriz underscored the commitment to practical stunts, stating, “The stunts are really insane. It’s a lot of practical stunts this time around. It’s a lot more time spent in cars and it’s a lot of time seeing Quiet as a driver.”

The Heist Episode Unveiled

Drawing parallels to her previous role as Detective Rosa Diaz in NBC`s *Brooklyn Nine-Nine*, a show celebrated for its iconic Halloween-themed heist episodes, Beatriz confirmed that *Twisted Metal* Season 2 will indeed feature a substantial heist. While assuring fans that it bears no resemblance to the *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* style, Beatriz described the forthcoming episode as “absolutely manic, ridiculous, bananas, off-the-wall,” playfully pondering how to adequately convey its chaotic nature.

She offered a more colorful detail, adding, “I’ll say this: there was probably like a day and a half where I was like, mostly naked.” Beatriz painted a vivid picture of the scene: “shit blowing up,” a “hall on fire,” and her character “running through mostly abandoned buildings, trying to not get hit over the head with missiles.” She succinctly summarized the entire experience as “shenanigans.”

The overarching narrative of Season 2 revolves around the brutal vehicular-combat tournament orchestrated by Calypso, portrayed by Anthony Carrigan. Prior to this formidable competition, Quiet and the other participants are actively engaged in upgrading their vehicles to maximize their chances of survival and triumph. In the harsh, post-apocalyptic world they inhabit, acquiring these crucial enhancements often necessitates resorting to theft.

Beatriz articulated the practical reasoning behind their actions: “You want your car to be as ready to go as possible. But how do you get weapons in this world if you don’t have money? How do you get them? Well, you steal them.”

*Twisted Metal* Season 2 is set to premiere on July 31st on Peacock.
