To mark its 20th anniversary this year, Tim Burton`s acclaimed stop-motion animation, “Corpse Bride,” is set to receive a special limited-edition 4K Steelbook Blu-ray. This film showcases many of Burton`s characteristic elements, such as its distinctive dark and melancholic visual style, a memorable score by Danny Elfman, and the vocal performances of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The “Corpse Bride” Limited Edition Steelbook is scheduled for release on September 23rd and can be preordered for $45.49 through retailers like Amazon and Walmart.
Initially, preorders were available for $35 in early July. There`s a chance the price might drop again before the official launch. Purchasers are typically not charged until their order is dispatched and automatically qualify for any price reductions that occur prior to shipment.
The forthcoming “Corpse Bride” Limited Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray is distinguished by its understated, plain black exterior, which contrasts sharply with its vibrant interior artwork featuring the titular character and other key figures. While a definitive list of bonus features is not yet available, it is anticipated to include a selection of supplemental content from earlier Blu-ray and DVD editions, such as behind-the-scenes featurettes, art galleries, and an isolated music track dedicated to Danny Elfman`s score.
“Corpse Bride” unfolds as a somber narrative centered on Victor Van Dort (voiced by Johnny Depp), a hesitant young man destined for an arranged marriage to Victoria Everglot (Emily Watson). Through an unfortunate chain of events, Victor inadvertently weds a deceased woman named Emily (Helena Bonham Carter), compelling him to seek a path back from the Land of the Dead and assist Emily in finding peace.
Tim Burton`s extensive filmography, spanning various genres and decades, consistently features his distinctive stylistic and visual flair. For those eager to explore more of his cinematic creations, numerous titles are readily available on Blu-ray. Burton`s directorial career began with “Pee-Wee`s Big Adventure,” followed by a string of cult classics throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including “A Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Beetlejuice,” and “Mars Attacks!” He also helmed two of the most iconic Batman films: 1989`s “Batman” and its sequel, “Batman Returns.” Both are part of a four-film 4K Blu-ray collection, which also features “Batman Forever” and “Batman & Robin,” currently offered at a significantly reduced price of $37.49 (originally $90).
