Those Hoping For Major Diablo 4 Update News May Have To Keep Waiting

Blizzard has announced that new details about Diablo 4 will only be revealed closer to the launch of Season 10, meaning a delay in important news for fans.

Adam Fletcher, Diablo`s Director of Social and Content Marketing, confirmed that currently, between seasons, there is nothing to share, and the next information will appear around the start or during the Public Test Realm (PTR) phase for Season 10.

Given that Diablo 4 Season 10 is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 23, and PTRs typically occur several weeks prior (late August to early September), the next “Campfire Chat” with developers is expected around the same time.

This implies that there will likely be no news about future changes in Diablo 4 for approximately a month. This situation causes bewilderment among players, as a number of Diablo 4 content creators recently reported attending a meeting with Blizzard where they were shown significant improvements currently in development, which have been actively requested by the community.

News of this meeting led many to anticipate imminent announcements regarding major enhancements. Fletcher himself stated in June that “players` warcries of wanting more change aren`t going unnoticed,” and that the team “has been cooking on some of the biggest changes that really hit home on things people have been asking for and more.”

Blizzard`s Diablo 4 2025 roadmap indicates that Season 10, “Infernal Chaos,” will be the last season for 2025, bringing changes to the “Infernal Hordes” activity, new seasonal powers, and a new IP crossover. For 2026, a new expansion, a ranking system, and more are planned.

While Blizzard could theoretically announce a new Diablo 4 expansion at Gamescom in August, it appears players may have to wait longer than desired to learn about the short-term steps Blizzard is taking to improve the ARPG.

Meanwhile, Diablo 4 Season 9, which recently saw Barbarians receive significant buffs, is ongoing. Blizzard is also preparing to launch Diablo 4 in China after receiving government approval.
