The Rogue Prince of Persia Makes Surprise Console Debut on Game Pass

Ubisoft`s highly anticipated title, The Rogue Prince of Persia, originally launched on PC via Steam Early Access in 2024, has now officially made its console debut. This includes its immediate availability through Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.

This significant console release was first unveiled by Ubisoft during the recent Xbox Gamescom livestream. The game is now accessible on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, and PS5, with plans for a Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 launch later in the year.

The console arrival of The Rogue Prince of Persia perfectly coincides with its full 1.0 release, both occurring today, August 20. Ubisoft announced that after over a year in early access, incorporating more than 15 major updates based on extensive community feedback, the game has now reached its “final form” for all players to enjoy. These comprehensive updates have introduced an entirely reworked art direction, a refreshed color palette, a variety of new biomes, enhanced weapons and trinkets, and an enriched metaprogression system.

Developed by Evil Empire, well-known for their work on Dead Cells, and published by Ubisoft, The Rogue Prince of Persia has already garnered positive attention. GameSpot`s Steam Early Access review awarded the game an impressive 8/10 score, highlighting its strong foundations.

The game is set in the ancient city of Ctesiphon, where players assume the role of a new prince who inadvertently provokes the mighty Hun army. In retaliation, the Hun chief, Nogai, unleashes his possessed soldiers to devastate the city. The prince`s mission is to defend Ctesiphon, utilizing a mysterious artifact that grants him the power to manipulate time, preventing permanent death and allowing him to continuously counter his enemies.

In addition to The Rogue Prince of Persia, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to other notable titles joining the service in August, including Gears of War: Reloaded, Persona 4: Golden, Void/Breaker, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, among others.
