The Iconic ‘Lava Chicken’ Song from the Minecraft Movie Officially Lands In-Game

The distinctive “sizzle-ing” sound is now part of Minecraft, as Jack Black`s catchy “Lava Chicken” tune from the recent Minecraft movie has been officially integrated. This marks another instance of the film influencing the game, underscoring Mojang`s intent to bring more of the movie`s playful and humorous elements into the virtual world.

First reported by Dexerto, this song is included in Minecraft`s most recent update, featuring a remix by the EDM group Hyper Potions. To acquire it, players must locate and defeat a “chicken jockey” within the game – a creature that also gained meme status from the movie. If chickens are absent, there`s a 0.25% probability for a newly spawned zombie to appear as a chicken jockey; this chance increases to 0.4875% when chickens are present in the vicinity, as confirmed by PC Gamer.

Clocking in at just 34 seconds, Jack Black`s contribution to the Minecraft movie soundtrack achieved a unique feat last summer, becoming the shortest song ever to enter the Billboard Hot 100. Remarkably, Black himself previously held this record with his song “Peaches” from The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack.

The Minecraft Movie rapidly ascended to become one of the most successful video game adaptations to date, surpassed only by The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and a sequel is already in development.

A significant factor in the film`s popularity was the unforeseen resonance of the “chicken jockey” scene. This specific moment deeply engaged younger viewers, leading to a widespread viral phenomenon in cinemas. Children enthusiastically chanted “chicken jockey” during its appearance, often transforming screenings into lively, almost unruly gatherings.

In certain cases, the excitement reached such a peak that cinema staff were compelled to contact law enforcement to calm the situation. Among the most talked-about events was when a fan famously brought a live chicken into the theater to participate in the revelry – an exploit that swiftly gained legendary status among the fan base.
