Bitmap Bureau`s retro side-scrolling game, “Terminator 2D: No Fate,” a homage to the iconic “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” will not arrive as anticipated in early September. Publisher Reef Entertainment has confirmed a slight postponement of its launch.
Reef`s social media channels revealed the new launch date for “Terminator 2D: No Fate” is now set for October 31st, coinciding with Halloween. This delay aims to provide Bitmap Bureau with additional time for “final refinements” to the day-one patch, affecting both digital and physical releases.
Earlier this year, details emerged about the two physical versions of “Terminator 2D: No Fate.” A standard edition is priced at $60, while a collector`s edition, costing $120, includes exclusive items such as a reversible box art sleeve, a fabric poster, a 25mm metal arcade coin with the game`s logo, a comprehensive color manual, and a special collector`s box.
The game`s narrative primarily centers on players embodying Sarah Connor and the valiant T-800. Their mission is to safeguard John Connor from the formidable T-1000 and thwart Skynet`s efforts to annihilate humanity. A fresh gameplay element allows players to control an adult John Connor during segments depicting the future war against Skynet.
“Terminator 2D: No Fate” is scheduled for release on October 31st across multiple platforms: Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The franchise`s latest cinematic release, “Terminator: Dark Fate” (2019), performed poorly at the box office. Despite this, James Cameron, the visionary behind the first two “Terminator” movies, has indicated ongoing work on a future “Terminator” endeavor. Additionally, Netflix premiered its animated series, “Terminator Zero,” in 2024.
