While EA`s new Skate game is now available for free on PlayStation and Xbox, a version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is not available. However, Switch 2 owners can anticipate another exciting skateboarding title joining its library this year.
Skate Story, an indie game by Sam Eng, published by Devolver, is set to arrive on the Switch 2 later this year. This game boasts a distinctive art style and an intriguing premise. Players control a demon in the underworld, whose form is composed of `glass and pain.` Tasked by the devil with a skateboard, the demon`s ultimate objective is to skate to the Moon and consume it to escape the confines of hell.
Master ollies, kickflips, and grinds as you traverse The Emptylands, shrouded in ash and smoke, on a seemingly impossible journey. Hone your balance and movement to conquer the challenging concrete. Immerse yourself in the ritualistic elegance of executing a flawless kickflip.
Skate Story was initially unveiled earlier this year and is also planned for release on PlayStation 5 and PC, though an Xbox version has not yet been confirmed.
This addition will expand the Switch and Switch 2`s diverse collection of skateboarding games, which already includes Tony Hawk`s Pro Skater 1+2, Skate Bird, Skater XL, Session, and OlliOlli World.
Regarding EA`s Skate, the launch appears successful, attracting two million players within its first 24 hours. The game is currently in early access, a phase expected to last approximately one year.
