Superman Blu-rays Are Already Up For Preorder

Even though James Gunn`s new Superman film recently premiered in theaters, pre-orders are now open for its forthcoming Blu-ray release. Options include a 4K Steelbook Edition priced at $38, alongside standard 4K and regular Blu-ray versions. Although a specific release date hasn`t been announced, Blu-rays typically arrive about three months after a movie`s cinematic debut, suggesting a Fall launch. Pre-ordering either the Steelbook or standard editions guarantees you won`t be billed until shipment and ensures you receive the lowest price if it fluctuates before release.

4K Steelbook Edition Details

No firm release date is set yet, but an Autumn launch, likely in October, is anticipated, roughly three months after the movie hits cinemas. The Steelbook cover art is striking, depicting the entrance to Superman`s hidden Fortress of Solitude. Inside, the artwork shows the Man of Steel traversing this crystalline tribute to his home planet.

Details on bonus features for this release are currently unavailable. However, past DC Comics film Blu-rays often include substantial behind-the-scenes content offering insights into the movie`s production. For instance, The Batman Blu-ray from 2022 featured extensive materials covering everything from the character`s portrayal development to the design of his equipment like the Batmobile.

Standard Edition Options

While the 4K Steelbook is a premium choice, standard editions are also available for pre-order in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats. The final cover art for these standard versions has not yet been unveiled, and like the Steelbook, details on included bonus features are pending. Pre-orders for these editions are currently open.

Companion Art Book

Beyond the movie`s home video release, a companion book titled `Superman: The Art and Making of the Film` is scheduled for release on November 18th. This 176-page hardcover includes concept art, character and costume designs, illustrations of movie locations, interviews with director James Gunn and the creative team, plus a foreword by Superman actor David Corenswet.

It is available for pre-order now for $50.
