The legal dispute involving Krafton shows no signs of resolution.

Recently, Ted Gill was reinstated to his position with “full operational authority” over Unknown Worlds following a court decision. Shortly after his return, Krafton announced a May release window for Subnautica 2.

However, these plans may now be in jeopardy. Gill’s legal team has sent a letter to the court, arguing that Krafton’s announcement was made improperly. They claim it has potentially “damaged the game and sown additional confusion within the Subnautica community.”

In addition to this, Gill’s lawyers have also requested that Krafton be found in contempt of court for disregarding the previous judicial ruling.

It appears the core of the issue isn’t so much the “May release” itself, but rather Krafton’s method of announcing it. The details of the release window were revealed through a letter from Steve Papoutsis, who had previously been appointed head of Unknown Worlds after Ted Gill’s dismissal.
