Stephanie Beatriz Reveals Lasting Scars from Twisted Metal Filming

Stephanie Beatriz, a prominent actress in the show Twisted Metal, has disclosed that her involvement in the series has left her with enduring marks, both in the form of physical injuries and profound personal emotional struggles experienced during the first season.

During a set visit in Toronto, Beatriz shared details about a significant scar on her left ankle, which she sustained while filming Season 1. She explained that the injury occurred when she moved too quickly across the front of a vehicle, resulting in a severe impact from one of its large spikes.

Describing the incident vividly, Beatriz stated that it “severely damaged” her leg. She noted that the permanent scar serves as a constant and undeniable reminder of her time on the show.

Beyond the physical evidence, Beatriz revealed that filming both seasons deeply impacted her emotionally, coinciding with major life events. She welcomed her first child in August 2021, and just nine months later, in May of the following year, she began shooting Twisted Metal Season 1. Tragically, in July 2022, she received the devastating news that her father was terminally ill with cancer, and he passed away shortly thereafter.

Recounting her inner turmoil, she shared, “My mind was in complete disarray, constantly questioning how I would possibly manage to navigate each day.”

For Season 2, Beatriz observed that while she doesn`t necessarily feel “more focused” on set, the intense personal challenges that preoccupied her during Season 1 are no longer competing for her attention. Despite this, she admitted to experiencing a degree of guilt about being away from her young child.

Articulating her perspective on the acting profession, she stated, “I believe it`s an actor`s responsibility to strive to separate what`s happening in their home life, their personal sphere, from their professional work on set.” She further elaborated, “Although I hope I managed this well in Season 1, I find myself grappling with significantly more guilt in Season 2 because I`m separated from my child, and she`s no longer just a helpless infant.”

Twisted Metal Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Peacock on July 31st.
