Paradox Interactive has once again stirred controversy among its fanbase. The company recently announced significant changes to its approach for the grand space strategy game Stellaris, which will include a price increase for the base version.
In celebration of Stellaris’s 10th anniversary, Paradox is generously providing the Utopia, Synthetic Dawn, and Humanoids Species Pack DLCs to all PC players. These three popular expansions, along with most elements from the Galaxy Edition upgrade, will be integrated directly into the base game.
However, this generosity comes with a trade-off: starting May 11th, the base version of Stellaris will see a price increase of $10. Players have the opportunity to purchase the game at its current, lower price before this date.
As is often the case with such changes, this decision was not met with universal approval from the community. Many long-time fans of Paradox games have expressed dissatisfaction, particularly those who had previously purchased these very DLCs, only to see them now become a free part of the base game for new buyers.
