StarRupture Playtest Is Coming This Month

Developer Creepy Jar has announced an upcoming closed playtest for their sci-fi survival game, StarRupture. This three-day event, taking place from July 29th to 31st, will give players a chance to experience the single-player aspects of the game before its full release.

In StarRupture, players are cast as prisoners sent to the penal colony world known as Arcadia-7. The entire planet serves as their prison, and survival depends solely on their ability to endure the harsh conditions.

Interested players can sign up for the playtest on the game`s Steam page. While the final game is designed for multiplayer co-op with up to four players, this specific playtest will focus on single-player gameplay. Participants will be able to build bases, explore the environment, and develop their survival and combat skills. Character progression will allow players to unlock new modifications and building options, enabling customization of abilities to suit individual play styles.

Players aren`t entirely alone in their struggle. The corporations overseeing the penal planet require them to contribute to a factory and gather resources. These companies show little concern for the prisoners` well-being, even if they fall victim to the dangerous native creatures inhabiting Arcadia-7.

StarRupture is currently planned for an Early Access launch this fall.
