Starfield Getting A Second Story DLC And More

Bethesda is committed to the long-term support of its 2023 space exploration RPG, Starfield. Tim Lamb, the lead creative producer, recently disclosed in a new video that players can anticipate a continuous flow of updates, most notably a second story-driven downloadable content (DLC) expansion.

“I`m genuinely excited for players to experience what our team has been developing. We have a lot of fantastic content on the horizon, encompassing both free updates with highly requested features and another substantial story DLC,” Lamb stated. He offered further hints about the upcoming additions: “While I can`t divulge every detail right now, a portion of the team`s efforts has been dedicated to enhancing space travel to make it more engaging and worthwhile. Additionally, we`re introducing new gameplay systems and a variety of smaller, pleasant surprises.”

The game`s inaugural story DLC, “Shattered Space,” launched in September 2024, introducing a new planet, additional weaponry, and equipment. As of now, details regarding the theme or content of the eagerly awaited second story DLC remain undisclosed.

Predictably, Lamb refrained from commenting on any speculative developments for Starfield, such as the rumored versions for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. Despite recent claims by a credible leaker suggesting a 2026 release for these console versions, Bethesda has yet to provide any official confirmation.

Beyond its continued commitment to Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios is concurrently engaged in the development of highly anticipated titles like The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. Notably, the studio`s most recent release, a remastered edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, has secured the position of the second best-selling game in the US for 2025.
