Sega`s highly anticipated arcade racer, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, is set to launch in just over two months for consoles and PC. This title boasts the largest character roster in series history, featuring not only beloved Sonic characters but also guest appearances from popular franchises such as Persona, Like A Dragon, and Minecraft. CrossWorlds will also support cross-platform online multiplayer, allowing players on PS5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch to compete together when the game hits stores on September 25. Pre-orders for both physical and digital editions are currently live, offering exclusive bonuses and potential discounts for early adopters.
It`s important to note that Sega is developing a dedicated version specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. This version will initially be available digitally during the holiday season. A definitive physical edition for the Switch 2, which will include the complete game on a 64GB game card, is slated for release in early 2026. For players eager to jump in at launch, the Nintendo Switch edition is available for $60, with an option to upgrade to the Switch 2 version for an additional $10 once it becomes available.
Amazon-Exclusive Edition for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
CrossWorlds is one of several upcoming titles to receive an exclusive Amazon edition. Those who pre-order a physical copy for Switch, PS5, or Xbox Series X will find a unique poster included inside the game box. This special edition was unveiled shortly after Amazon announced a similar exclusive for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, which also features a poster and is scheduled for release just days after CrossWorlds.
All pre-orders, including the Amazon-exclusive edition, come bundled with the Sonic Werehog DLC pack, which contains the following in-game items:
- Werehog playable character
- Beast Spike vehicle
- Werehog in-game decal
PC Pre-order Savings for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
PC players, while not receiving the physical poster, can take advantage of pre-order discounts. Steam keys for both the Standard and Digital Deluxe versions are available at reduced prices through Fanatical. The Digital Deluxe Edition offers a Season Pass, three-day early access, and additional in-game content.

Upon its release, CrossWorlds will feature 24 main courses and 15 unique `CrossWorlds.` These `CrossWorlds` can be instantly accessed mid-race through the innovative new Travel Ring mechanic. The game will offer a variety of solo and multiplayer modes, including local split-screen co-op and online matchmaking for up to 12 players.
