Konami has proudly announced a significant milestone for its Silent Hill 2 remake, revealing that the highly anticipated horror title has engaged over 5 million players. The company clarified that this impressive figure, recorded as of late January 2026, encompasses not only direct retail and digital sales but also individuals who accessed the game through various subscription services.
Notably, the remake joined the PlayStation Plus Extra library on October 15, 2025. Just two days following its inclusion in the subscription service, Konami had already reported that the game sold over 2.5 million copies through traditional channels. At that time, the cumulative sales for the entire Silent Hill series also surpassed 10 million units worldwide.
In November 2025, the Silent Hill 2 remake expanded its reach by launching on Xbox Series X and S consoles, accompanied by a 50% discount. While this release and promotional offer likely contributed to the overall player count, it is widely presumed that the majority of the five million players originate from Sony’s PlayStation platforms.
