Significant Discounts on 8BitDo Xbox Edition Wireless Keyboard and Accessories

The 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Wireless Keyboard, officially licensed by Xbox, is currently available at a remarkable discount. Originally priced at $120, it can be purchased for just $70 at Woot. Amazon also has a limited-time offer, selling it for $98. For those purchasing from Woot, orders may ship from the same warehouse, and payment can be conveniently made using an Amazon account.

This transparent green gaming keyboard draws inspiration from a popular special-edition model of the original Xbox. It made its debut in January, launched alongside the accompanying 8BitDo Retro R8 Wireless Mouse. In May, 8BitDo further expanded its Xbox-themed lineup with an Ultimate 3-Mode Controller featuring the same distinctive color scheme.

The Retro 87 TKL Xbox Edition Mechanical Keyboard, a collaboration with Xbox, features several design elements reminiscent of Microsoft`s original home console. These include a translucent green plastic casing and directional keys that mirror the colors of the Xbox controller`s face buttons. An integrated Xbox button is also present, allowing quick access to the Xbox overlay menu on Windows. Similar to other 8BitDo console-inspired mechanical keyboards, the Retro 87 TKL comes with a detachable module that includes two large, customizable microswitch buttons.

This keyboard boasts RGB lighting and offers official compatibility with Windows, Mac, and Android devices. It supports multiple connection modes: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired (USB-C). Even the included USB-C cable matches the keyboard`s signature green color. Users can personalize keybindings and adjust various settings through 8BitDo`s Ultimate Software V2 application, available on PC, Mac, and mobile platforms.

As an added bonus, a free one-month trial for new PC Game Pass subscribers is included with the keyboard.

The Retro R8 mouse features an ambidextrous design and includes four additional programmable buttons, with two on each side. These extra buttons, like the keyboard`s directional keys, match the colors of the Xbox controller`s face buttons.

Connectivity for the mouse extends to PC, Mac, and Android devices via Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz wireless dongle. This USB-A dongle can be conveniently stored within the mouse itself or its included magnetic charging dock. For those who prefer a wired connection, the Retro R8, like the keyboard, comes with a green USB-C cable for both charging and wired operation. The mouse can also be charged directly, eliminating the need to carry the dock when away from your desk.

Users can customize the Retro R8`s settings using the Ultimate Software V2 app on desktop or mobile. The mouse also comes bundled with a one-month trial to PC Game Pass for new subscribers, though it`s important to note that only one voucher can be redeemed if both the keyboard and mouse are purchased.

In May, 8BitDo released an NES-themed edition of the Retro R8 Mouse for $50. The Retro R8 is 8BitDo`s second gaming mouse, following the N30 2.4GHz Wireless Mouse, which distinguishes itself with a D-pad instead of side buttons and a touch panel for scrolling. The N30 is available for $25 (originally $30) on Amazon.
