Rare Discount on Pokémon Monopoly: Grab It for Just $19!

The popular Pokémon Edition of Monopoly is currently on sale for only $18.74 at major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target. This marks a significant drop from its usual $25 price, a rare occurrence since its launch last December, when it quickly became a bestseller. Previous discounts have been minimal, making this current offer particularly noteworthy.

Given its consistent popularity on Amazon`s board game charts, this limited-time deal is expected to sell out quickly, possibly before its anticipated end date of August 2nd. If you`re interested, it`s wise to secure your copy soon!

What Makes Pokémon Monopoly Unique?

Unlike traditional Monopoly, the Pokémon Edition challenges 2-4 players to use Poké Balls to “catch” Pokémon across the board`s iconic locations. The objective is to collect eight different types of Pokémon or be the last player with Poké Balls remaining. The game includes a vibrant board and charming miniature figures of beloved Pokémon such as Pikachu, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly to use as player tokens.

Its immense popularity since last December is understandable, especially considering its surprisingly low launch price of $25. Many licensed Monopoly editions based on major franchises typically retail for around $40, making the Pokémon version`s affordability a key factor in its consistent bestseller status and infrequent price reductions.

Past and Present Pokémon Board Games

This isn`t the first Pokémon-themed Monopoly collaboration between Hasbro and The Pokémon Company. Older, out-of-print editions like the Kanto Edition, featuring metal tokens of Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee, and Jigglypuff, are now only available from resellers, often costing around $45. Similarly, the Johto Edition, which includes six metal pieces like Pikachu, Totodile, Togepi, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Pichu, can be found for about $58.

For those interested in other Pokémon-themed board games, Ravensburger`s Pokémon Labyrinth is currently available for $25 (originally $30). In this game, players navigate a constantly shifting maze to find various Pokémon. Matches are quick, typically lasting around 30 minutes, and can accommodate up to four players. A cool glow-in-the-dark version of Pokémon Labyrinth, released last fall, is also on offer for $26 (originally $30).
