The highly anticipated crossover event featuring Persona 5`s Phantom Thieves is set to launch in Overwatch 2 on September 16. This collaboration introduces an array of new premium cosmetic items inspired by Atlus`s popular JRPG, which are expected to come with a significant price tag.
Blizzard previously hinted at this collaboration, and now they have officially unveiled five primary cosmetic items available for purchase during the Season 18 crossover event. These include:
- Wuyang as Joker
- Mercy as Panther
- Lifeweaver as Fox
- D.Va as Queen
- Genji as Skull

Unlike previous Overwatch collaborations, such as those with Gundam Wing or Avatar: The Last Airbender, where Blizzard often reimagined how heroes would embody various characters, the Persona 5 skins take a more direct approach. These new Overwatch 2 cosmetics faithfully replicate the Persona 5 character designs, making it almost challenging to discern the underlying Overwatch hero. Nevertheless, some subtle touches enhance the experience, like rose petals drifting from Mercy`s wings or Wuyang`s staff channeling Joker`s Persona, Arsene.
Wuyang, being Overwatch 2`s latest support hero, currently has a limited selection of cosmetics, making his prominent inclusion in this crossover a welcome addition. Conversely, Mercy, a highly popular character frequently featured in collaborations, is a natural choice to embody Panther. While Blizzard has yet to announce precise pricing, it is anticipated that these skin bundles will align with previous crossover costs, typically around 2,800 Overwatch Coins (approximately $28) per bundle.

Beyond the new skins, several Persona 5 visual elements will also be integrated into Overwatch 2`s interface. This includes a new key art piece from Atlus character artist Shigenori Soejima. Furthermore, a unique Phantom Thieves-themed overlay will be displayed when browsing the Persona 5 cosmetics in the in-game shop, a feature Blizzard notes as a first for a collaboration event.
Players who prefer not to spend money will still have opportunities to acquire free items during the Overwatch 2 crossover. These often include sprays, weapon charms, and player icons obtainable by completing specific challenges. The Overwatch 2 Persona 5 crossover event is scheduled to run from September 16 to September 30.
