Persona 3 Reload, the highly anticipated remake of the beloved JRPG, is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23. Pre-orders are currently available for both the $60 physical standard edition and the $90 Digital Premium Edition, which includes a selection of extra DLC content. While the content of the Switch 2 versions appears to be identical to those released on PS5, Xbox, and PC last year, there are a couple of notable differences to consider. Firstly, the physical Switch 2 release of Persona 3 Reload will be a Game Key-Card. This means that unlike traditional cartridges, it does not contain the game data itself; instead, it functions as a physical DRM key, allowing you to download the digital version to your console.
The other potential variation concerns its technical performance. Atlus has yet to confirm the exact performance metrics for the Switch 2 version. However, based on early trailer footage, Persona 3 Reload seems to run at 30 frames per second on Nintendo`s new console, whereas it maintains 60fps on all other platforms. While it`s possible the final release could achieve higher framerates than what has been shown, for now, it suggests the Switch 2 version might not offer the same fluidity as other platforms.
