Overwatch 2 Season 18: Persona Collaboration and Key Updates

Overwatch 2 consistently teases upcoming collaborations in its seasonal previews. The trailer for Season 18 maintains this pattern, concluding its reveal of new features with a silhouette of Joker from Persona 5.

Assuming this Persona crossover follows the pattern of previous Overwatch 2 collaborations, several Overwatch characters are expected to receive new costumes inspired by Persona`s iconic heroes. Blizzard has not yet released further details about this partnership or its in-game launch date. Past collaborations have seen Overwatch 2 heroes don outfits from G.I. Joe, Transformers, Street Fighter, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Concurrently, Blizzard is highlighting Season 18`s Stadium Quick Play mode, which promises shorter match durations, a faster item economy, and cross-play functionality. Winston, Brigitte, and Pharah will be available from the mode`s launch, with Tracer slated for a mid-season arrival.

The most significant new addition to the game is the hero Wuyang, whose water-based abilities may remind players of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Blizzard has suggested that Wuyang signifies a departure from Overwatch 2`s more unconventional characters, though future additions might still include non-human entities.

Overwatch 2 Season 18 is set to launch on August 26, featuring a competitive rank reset that offers players a fresh start. Additionally, over 50 new perks will be available at launch, with every hero receiving at least one.
