Nintendo has revealed an upcoming Indie World Showcase, scheduled for this Thursday, August 7. This announcement closely follows last week`s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The event promises approximately 15 minutes of fresh announcements and updates concerning independent games destined for both the Nintendo Switch and the new Nintendo Switch 2. Viewers can tune in to the premiere at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET via any official Nintendo YouTube channel.
This showcase is the first of its kind since the Switch 2`s launch in June. While the specific lineup remains uncertain, it`s advised not to anticipate an appearance from the highly awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong. This title, noticeably absent from the recent Partner Showcase, is more likely to feature in a main Nintendo Direct, given its high anticipation. It was, in fact, briefly shown in a sizzle reel during the initial Switch 2 Direct in April.
The previous Nintendo Indie World event took place a year ago, highlighting announcements such as Sea of Stars DLC, Balatro collaborations, a Shrek content pack for PowerWash Simulator, and a surprise release of Pizza Tower.
Last week`s Partner Showcase offered a variety of reveals, including a new Monster Hunter Stories, a new Katamari title, a Persona 3 Reload port, an updated look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and a new entry in the Octopath Traveler series, among other announcements.
