A new Nintendo Direct presentation is reportedly imminent, with reliable insider Nate the Hate indicating in a July 14 podcast that it`s scheduled for this month.
Nate the Hate stated, “I have been informed that a Direct will occur this month, July, but only after Donkey Kong Bananza has been released. I currently lack further details regarding the precise timing.”
Given Bananza`s Switch 2 launch on July 17, the rumored Direct would logically follow its release, assuming the information is correct.
Beyond this, speculation suggests various potential announcements, including a Donkey Kong movie, a Switch 2 port of Red Dead Redemption II, or Activision`s plans to bring Call of Duty to the console.
A separate Pokémon Presents event is set for July 22. While concurrent Nintendo-related events are not unheard of, Nate the Hate suggests the Direct is more likely to take place in the final week of July, preceding Nintendo`s August 1 earnings report.
The most recent Nintendo Direct focused solely on Bananza on June 18. Prior to that, significant Directs included the Switch 2 presentation on April 2 and a Mario Kart World Direct on April 17. Historically, Nintendo did not host July Directs in 2024 or 2023, but past trends don`t necessarily dictate future plans.
It`s also advisable to monitor the Nintendo Today app, as the company frequently uses it for early announcements.
