Basketball sensation Luka Dončić, widely recognized for his recent blockbuster trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, is now extending his influence into the gaming world. He is officially joining the Overwatch 2 universe as his in-game alter ego, “Sharpshooter 77.”
To commemorate this unique collaboration, Blizzard will be offering Overwatch 2 players a series of exclusive in-game items. These include a giveaway of 77 loot boxes, a distinctive golden basketball weapon charm emblazoned with Dončić`s jersey number, a special spray, and a player title for “Sharpshooter 77.” Furthermore, fans will have the opportunity to experience special Stadium hero builds inspired by Dončić`s various personas, such as “Fadeaway Fan” Cassidy, “Luka Dunkcic” Lúcio, and “Hooper Trooper” Zarya.
Notably, Luka Dončić himself is an ardent Overwatch 2 player, holding the prestigious rank of Grandmaster and being recognized among the top 500 players in North America.
“Many have seen how competitive I am on the basketball court, but you may not know that I`m just as competitive when I`m playing Overwatch. I love this game, and I`m excited about this partnership. It`s special to be in the game in a way that other players can be a part of.”

As part of the extensive promotional campaign, Blizzard will be deploying billboard advertisements announcing Dončić`s Overwatch 2 appearance in several key locations: Dallas, his former NBA city; Los Angeles, his current residence; and Katowice, Poland, where he is presently competing for the Slovenian national team at EuroBasket.
Overwatch 2`s 18th season launched this week and is anticipated to feature a future collaboration with Persona 5. Game director Aaron Keller recently shared his aspiration to develop an Overwatch TV series; however, there are no concrete plans for such a project at this time.
