Soon, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will offer players an exciting opportunity to explore the iconic islands of “Jurassic World,” providing a unique and safe way to observe dinosaurs from above.
The upcoming “Jurassic World: Archipelago” DLC is set to integrate the Muertes Archipelago, famously known as The Five Deaths from the Jurassic Park and World films, into Microsoft Flight Simulator. These islands are situated off the coast of Costa Rica. The expansion is expected to launch in late August or early September, initially for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with a subsequent release for the 2020 version.
Pilots will be able to navigate between these five islands and adjacent areas of Costa Rica, engaging in various challenges and guided tours. The DLC`s developers have confirmed the presence of several dinosaur species that players can view in their (simulated) natural habitats, including:
- Apatosaurus
- Brachiosaurus
- Dimorphodon
- Gallimimus
- Mosasaurus
- Pteranodon
- Stegosaurus
- Tyrannosaurus Rex
- Velociraptor
Additional species are anticipated to be revealed closer to the release date.
The narrative of this DLC unfolds just prior to the events of the 2015 “Jurassic World” film. Isla Nublar`s park is depicted as fully prepared for its grand opening, albeit without the first wave of guests. Players will witness all the park`s iconic structures and a fully operational monorail system. Furthermore, Isla Sorna, familiar to fans from “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic Park 3,” will also be accessible for fly-overs, allowing glimpses of the ruins of various Site B facilities where the park`s dinosaurs were originally bred.
“Jurassic World: Archipelago” is developed by Orbx Studios. The expansion will be available for purchase directly through Orbx`s official website or via the in-game marketplace within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Earlier this year, reports surfaced regarding the potential release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, along with other Microsoft first-party titles, on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. While some games, such as the upcoming Gears of War: Reloaded, have since been confirmed for PS5, there has been no official announcement regarding Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024`s availability on these new platforms.
