Metal Gear Solid Delta is set to transport fans back to 1960s Russian jungles later this month, revisiting the foundational narrative of the Metal Gear Solid series. However, Konami`s plans for MGS Delta extend beyond its initial release. The company recently revealed `Fox Hunt,` a new multiplayer mode inspired by hide-and-seek, slated for addition to the game this autumn.
The official Metal Gear Solid Delta website indicates that `Fox Hunt` draws inspiration from the `Sneaking Mission` modes seen in previous Metal Gear Online iterations. In this mode, one player assumes the role of an infiltrator, while others actively pursue and attempt to eliminate them. The mode promises to utilize signature stealth mechanics from the Metal Gear series, intensifying the traditional hide-and-seek dynamic.
Beyond `Fox Hunt,` the game will also include two distinct side activities: `Snake Vs. Monkey` for PlayStation 5 and `Snake Vs. Bomberman` for Xbox Series X|S. `Snake Vs. Monkey` reimagines the Ape Escape-themed missions from the original Metal Gear Solid 3, where players captured monkeys. `Snake Vs. Bomberman` introduces an explosive new crossover, pitting Snake against the iconic arcade character, Bomberman.
Metal Gear Solid Delta is a faithful remake of the PlayStation 2 classic, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It re-narrates the pivotal mission that propelled the series` legendary antagonist, Big Boss, towards his eventual darker destiny and eponymous title. Players will journey into the dense Russian jungles of the late 1960s, confronting formidable bosses with extraordinary abilities, all while striving to thwart a ruthless colonel`s plot to destabilize the Russian military.
Metal Gear Solid Delta is scheduled for release on August 28 across Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Pre-orders are currently open for the standard, deluxe, and a $200 Collector`s Edition, which includes an exclusive diorama depicting Snake within a jungle setting.
