Just last week, both Walmart and Amazon listed the Super Mario World Lego set for $117. Currently, only Walmart offers the $104 price point, although Amazon`s $117 deal remains active. The Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set, launched last October, is one of the few adult-oriented Nintendo Lego sets still actively produced today.

Comprising 1,215 pieces, the Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set masterfully captures the pixelated aesthetic from the Super Nintendo era. It offers an engaging building experience and serves as a perfect display piece for all Super Mario enthusiasts, especially those who appreciate the classic 16-bit character designs.
The finished model measures 15.5 x 10 x 4 inches and boasts several interactive features. A dial behind Yoshi`s head allows him to extend his tongue. A crank on the side of the base initiates a more elaborate animation: Yoshi`s legs move, creating the illusion of running, complemented by a quick bouncing motion of the figure. Yoshi`s head subtly shifts back and forth, and Mario`s cape gently sways, mirroring its in-game appearance.
This set also includes an “Action Tag,” meaning if you own one of the “Adventures with Lego Super Mario” starter courses, the interactive figures (Mario, Luigi, or Peach) will respond to it.
Lego has done an excellent job making the instructions easy to follow. I personally used a combination of the physical instruction booklet and the Lego Builder app on an iPad. The square pieces, crucial for creating the pixel art, are numbered in the booklet, which I found incredibly helpful as someone with colorblindness.
While technically part of Lego`s “18+” adult line, children who have experience assembling 1,000-piece sets or larger will likely find no difficulty with this build.
