NetEase is rolling out a significant update for Marvel Rivals with Season 3.5, introducing not only new content but also robust measures aimed at tackling player toxicity. Starting July 24, all in-game voice chat will be recorded and automatically screened by the system to flag any inappropriate messages.
Guangguang, the director of Marvel Rivals, shared this pivotal news on social media. He assured players that while the system will identify potential violations, human reviewers will conduct a thorough assessment of flagged voice chats before any disciplinary action, such as bans or other penalties, is imposed. Guangguang emphasized the importance of community cohesion, stating, “United we stand, divided we fall. I truly believe that if we work together, we will all have a great time in Marvel Rivals.”
The Season 3.5 update also targets players who prematurely exit competitive matches. Enhanced penalties, including longer bans and more substantial point deductions, will be enforced to discourage such behavior. Conversely, for teammates left in a disadvantaged position, NetEase will streamline the surrender process and provide point compensation, aiming to alleviate the negative impact of abandoned matches.
Beyond these policy changes, new gameplay content is on the horizon. The “Resource Rumble” mode is set to debut on August 22. This comes after the launch of Season 3.5 last month, which introduced Jean Grey, famously known as Phoenix, to the game`s roster. Another notable addition was a unique team-up ability for Human Torch and The Thing, inspired by their rivalry depicted in the Fantastic Four: First Steps comics. Interestingly, the voice cast for The Fantastic Four was also filmed while performing their character roles within Marvel Rivals, adding an authentic touch for fans.
